Tai Chi

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese mind-body practice that combines slow, flowing movements with deep breathing and meditation. It emphasizes balance, flexibility, and relaxation.

Makaan’s movement meditation classes are often an experience to be remembered because they allow students to sink into a place of grace, within the set. Following is easy as sets are repeated , using music and metaphors  to let go of trying and just relax into movements. Discussion of principals  and questions after movement is encouraged.

Therapeutic Benefits:

  • Balance and Stability: Tai Chi helps improve balance and stability, making it particularly beneficial for older adults and those with Parkinson’s disease.
  • Pain Management: It may reduce pain from knee osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, and back pain.
  • Quality of Life: Tai Chi enhances overall well-being and mood, especially in people with heart disease, cancer, and chronic illnesses.
